Boulder Valley School District Taking Solar to the Next Level

09 Oct Boulder Valley School District Taking Solar to the Next Level

We were excited to learn that the Boulder Valley School District (BVSC) will be adding over 5,000 solar panels at 14 of it’s schools, bringing the total number of BVSD schools with solar panels up to 30! This exciting and innovative initiative will eliminate ‘over 110 million pounds of annual carbon dioxide emissions, which is the equivalent of taking roughly 300 cars off Colorado’s roads each year.’ Not only is this project a fantastic step forward in energy savings but it is also a wonderful learning opportunity for the students, who will be able to study and monitor the energy usage of the solar panels. Kudos to BVSD for taking on this ambitious project and thanks to sustainablog.org for sharing the article where we found this story!
