In designing the McClelland’s Creek models TRIO took a new and innovative approach to targeted marketing by employing social media to engage potential buyers. First, utilizing detailed market research, specific demographics were outlined for the community. Next, TRIO worked directly with potential buyers in these demographics to ‘design’ their dream homes via social media websites like Pinterest. The participants not only indicated materials and finishes they liked but also communicated storage needs and adjacencies that were important to them. These ideas were then used as the initial design concepts. In using this fresh approach, TRIO was able to take a very strategic approach to designing these models.

The first of the three models is the Scene. Designed for a family with younger children, this floor plan features an open main level, as well as dedicated areas for both children and adults. Upon entering you are welcomed by a wall of dimensional mirrors that draw your eye into the space and toward the custom, stone fireplace. White cabinets and light finishes, combined with lots of natural light and wood floors throughout the firstfloor, give this home an open and elegant feel. A spacious study, with a wall of built-in cabinets, provides a getaway for a parent working from home while the second floor loft provides a separate area for the children to read or do homework. Off of the loft are two bedrooms designed with kids in mind, including a custom built bunk bed that every child would dream of having. Recycled wood furniture, combined with elegant bedding and painted wood ceiling treatment give the master suite the feeling of being in a cozy hotel room. Throughout the home the sophisticated and neutral color palette is brought to life with splashes of yellow, touches of chrome and unique tile details which give the home a feeling of both comfort and understated elegance, perfect for any young family.

The Vantage model is the largest of the three and was designed for a larger, blended family with one parent officing from the home. Keeping this in mind, the home includes larger areas for the whole family to come together, while providing individual spaces for the various aged children and also a large, private home office. The main level features both an open kitchen/dining/living area where the whole family can spend an evening and also a separate dining room for more formal entertaining. The upper level of the home includes a child centric loft and dedicated playroom, both featuring lots of built-in storage perfect for toys, games and school gear. A children’s’ wing has a private kids bath, a pirate themed bedroom with custom mural and a glamorous girls room that any tween would adore. Finishing off the second level is a spacious master suite. A vaulted ceiling with wood beams, coffee bar, and gorgeous bathroom make it the perfect place to start and end the day. The lower level of the home is every teen boy’s dream combined with dad’s man cave!  A large rec room with media center, dual sectionals, wet bar and game area with built-in dart board are perfect for guys night in or watching the big game. A wood floor and wainscot throughout the space give you the feeling of being in an upscale sports bar, right in the comfort of your own home.Tucked off to the side is a large bedroom with built-in desk, corrugated metal wainscot and ceiling mural, making it an awesome hide-out for an older child. Throughout the house, white and dark wood trim are combined in custom ceiling and wall details, providing a rich contrast and upgraded feel, while pops of navy and royal blue can be found in the furniture, kitchen backsplash and artwork. This spacious, yet inviting home provides all of the needs of a large family, wrapped up in a stunning package.

Last, but not least is the Bliss model. This popular floor plan was designed to target an active family with two young boys and includes a first floor suite perfect for a nanny or visiting grandparents. The entry of this inviting home features natural hickory floors with slate tile insets, which lead you into the open kitchen/dining area. A stone and glass accent wall run the length of this space giving it a rustic, yet contemporary feel. The adjacent great room with vaulted ceiling is perfect for family lounging or entertaining. Right off of the main living area is a large guest suite with bedroom, bathroom and separate living space with a stunning built-in media wall and coffee bar. This is a space where any long-term guest would surely feel at home. Up the open staircase is a kids loft with a built-in daybed and gaming chairs; the perfect space for boys to get away while the rest of the family is relaxing downstairs. Hickory floors continue from the loft into the master suite where a rich, slate blue color, and crown moulding add to the warmth of the room. Both kids bedrooms in this home have playful details including suspended loft beds and a custom baseball bat bed. The icing on the cake in this home is the kid-friendly basement. With colorful carpet tiles, lounge seating and a TV nook this is the perfect place to send the kids to play. Corrugated metal wainscoting and fun spray painted artwork add to the fun nature of the space. Warm and welcoming, this model exudes the ever popular Colorado contemporary feel yet stands out from the rest with it’s custom details and well planned spaces.

It goes without saying that TRIO’s design philosophies always include sustainable elements and these models are no exception. All three homes feature carpet and tile that include recycled content, quartz countertops and low VOC cabinets from Merillat. Other unique, and sustainable, features of these models include up-cycled elements within the custom furniture, recyclable carpet tiles and furniture supplied by manufacturers with great green stories.
